Standard #2: Learning Differences
Artifact #1
Reflection
*In EDU250 we were asked to take a Multiple Intelligence assessment to learn what our strengths and weaknesses were in terms of learning styles. I felt like this was beneficial because I not only learned my own strengths but also what how other people differed from myself in terms of how they learned. It helped me to plan how I would deal with the differences in each of my classes to benefit my students in their education.
The other activity covered in EDU250 that gave a better understanding was that of the advantages and disadvantages bilingual students face in the classroom. These students have a harder time connecting due to their differences in language and thus in learning styles. I was able to better understand their differences and learn techniques that would help to make them more comfortable and help them learn at the same pace as the other students in the classroom. Through discussions and talking with my peers I gained an understanding of what other people may do in the same situation.
